The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and protecting grey seal pups along the Cornish coast. Every pupping season (September to March), our expert team cares for up to 70 vulnerable pups, treating malnourishment, injury and separation from their mothers before releasing them back into the wild.
Meet Our Resident Animals
Beyond our rescue work, the Sanctuary is home to 9 resident grey seals, 3 common seals and a group of rescued Icelandic puffins. Each of our residents has their own rescue story and would not survive if released back into the wild, so they live here permanently, receiving expert lifelong care and support from our teams, while helping us educate visitors about the threats facing their species.
Seal Talks and Feeds
Throughout the day, our dedicated team runs seal talks and feeds, sharing the rescue stories behind each resident and explaining the conservation challenges facing seals around our coastline. It’s the best way to see our seals up close and learn what makes each one unique.
A Day Out for the Whole Family
Set across 42 acres, the Sanctuary is the perfect place to get back to nature. Explore woodland nature trails, watch feeding times, and let the kids burn off energy in our adventure playground. Families can spend a full day learning about marine conservation while having genuine fun together.
When you need a break, our onsite café serves hot and cold food and drinks including vegan and gluten free options.
We’re dog friendly too, so the whole family, four legged members included, can enjoy a day out together.
Every ticket helps fund the rescue, rehabilitation and release of grey seal pups along the Cornish coast, and the lifelong care of the animals who can’t return to the wild.
Come and see the difference you’re making.
