How long does it take to visit Trebah Garden?

Most visitors spend around 2–3 hours at Trebah, although you can easily spend longer exploring the garden, walking to the beach, having lunch or simply taking your time. There are around four miles of footpaths to explore.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

No, you don't need to pre-book a visit to Trebah Garden. Tickets can be purchased from the Entrance Desk when you arrive.

Is there parking at Trebah Garden?

Yes and parking is free. There is plenty of on-site parking, with a short, step-free walk to the Visitor Centre. There are also dedicated disabled parking spaces close to the entrance.

Are dogs allowed at Trebah Garden?

Yes! Dogs are very welcome in the garden and on Trebah's private beach. They must be kept on leads throughout your visit. Dogs are also welcome in designated areas of Trebah Kitchen, with water bowls and dog waste bins available around the site.

Can you go to the beach at Trebah?

Yes. Trebah has its own private beach, Polgwidden Cove, on the Helford River. The beach is accessible by walking through the garden and is a lovely place to have a paddle, skim stones or enjoy the views.

Can you swim at Trebah Beach?

Yes, you can swim at Polgwidden Cove. The sheltered beach can be a great place for a dip, but there is no lifeguard cover, so visitors swim at their own risk and should stay within their abilities.

Is Trebah Garden accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs?

The garden's valley landscape means there are some steep sections. There is a marked step-free route through the garden and down to the beach. Manual wheelchairs aren't recommended because of the slopes, but Trebah has two Tramper mobility vehicles available free of charge, which must be booked in advance. Pushchairs can use the recommended step-free route.

Is Trebah Garden suitable for a rainy day?

Absolutely, the sub-tropical garden can be particularly atmospheric in wet weather, with plenty of large trees and plants providing shelter. The Visitor Centre, Trebah Kitchen, Gift Shop, Plant Centre and Exhibition Space are also undercover and free to use, so there's still plenty to enjoy if the weather turns.
