This National Lobster Day, The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow is dedicating a weekend to celebrating these ocean locals, and the community working to keep them around for generations to come.
There’s something remarkable about the European lobster. Beneath Cornish waters, these creatures play a vital role in marine ecosystems, coastal heritage and local fishing communities. Like so much of Cornwall’s marine life, though, they need a helping hand to thrive against changing oceans and environmental pressures.
For over 25 years, the hatchery’s team has worked side-by-side with local fishermen, pioneering practical conservation by raising microscopic hatchlings and releasing them safely into the wild. Small lobster, massive impact.

- Hands-on fun for all ages: Take part in family-friendly activities running throughout the weekend.
