All aboard for a magical festive adventure at Lappa Valley, Cornwall’s Secret World of Play and Trains.
Father Christmas at Lappa Valley returns on selected dates from 28th November to 24th December 2026, offering families a memorable start to the Christmas season.
The experience begins at Benny Halt, where visitors board a festive train for a journey through the winter countryside. On arrival at East Wheal Rose, families will discover a Christmas wonderland filled with seasonal music, decorations and plenty of festive cheer.
Children can write their letters to Father Christmas before enjoying a special visit to his magical grotto. Every child will meet Father Christmas and receive a good-quality, age-appropriate present, together with a cookie and a hot chocolate or squash. Adults are included in the festivities too, with a mince pie and a choice of hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
There is plenty more to enjoy throughout the day. The Lakeside Railway will be transformed with a festive theme and families can enjoy unlimited rides. The Engine Shed Indoor Soft Play, Adventure Golf, outdoor play areas and Musical Walk will also be open, giving children lots of opportunities to play and explore before or after their grotto visit.
The Engine Shed Café will be serving meals, drinks and seasonal specials, making it easy for families to turn their visit into a full festive day out.
Tickets include admission to Lappa Valley, available rides and activities, the Father Christmas experience, a present for every child and festive refreshments. Prices are £19 for adults, £22 for children aged 3–15 and £10 for children aged two and under. One Essential Companion may accompany a paying visitor with a disability free of charge, subject to the required proof of eligibility. Dogs can also attend for £6 and will receive a present.
On Saturday 5th December, the 9.30am, 10.30am and 11.30am trains will be tailored for groups that include individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. These sessions feature brighter grotto lighting, quieter music, static displays and a more adaptable meeting with Father Christmas. SEND sessions must be booked by telephone on 01872 510317.
