Every December, Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery in Truro welcomes a very special guest. Father Christmas moves in for several weeks and makes the museum his Cornish HQ, where he wrangles elves, gathers gifts and brushes up on his Cornish history.
In return for borrowing the museum printer for his naughty and nice lists, he and his elves share stories with visiting families. Their tales draw on Cornwall’s long tradition of passing stories down through the generations.
Father Christmas at the Museum is now open for bookings. When you book, you can also add a ‘pay it forward’ ticket and gift the experience to a local child who wouldn’t otherwise be able to go.
What’s in store for 2026?
Your journey begins in The Mineral Gallery, where some of the better-behaved elves draw you into an immersive story. From there, step inside Father Christmas’ Kernow Office before meeting the man himself for a photo. And yes, he’ll be bearing gifts.
Would your little ones enjoy a quieter festive outing? Two of the shows have a smaller audience, and you’ll find the details on the booking page.
Sessions run from 12th December until Christmas Eve, when Father Christmas has somewhere rather important to be. These sessions are popular, so book your place early.
