Cornwall is full of exciting, safe, and memory-making days out for toddlers and primary-aged children.

Whether you’re looking for animals, outdoor fun, or hands-on experiences, there’s something for everyone. Here are some of the top family-friendly attractions to explore this summer.

It’s a good idea to book ahead for discounted tickets and check attraction websites for fun extras such as treasure hunts, themed days, and summer shows.

Toddler Time at the Museum

These sessions at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery are free with an Annual Pass (£10 for parents, grandparents and carers) and a great excuse to bring your under 5s to the museum for stories, activities and mini journeys of discovery!

The group is based in the Nature Gallery, where you’ll meet other families and be close to the lift, buggy parking, and changing facilities.

The museum request that you book a free place for every adult and child attending. If you don’t already have an Annual Pass you’ll need to purchase one at the front desk on your first session. The museum is an inclusive space and all are welcome.

Become a ‘Wildlife Hero’ at Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, Hayle.

Wildlife, nature and the environment are at the heart of the summer Wildlife Hero Quiz at Paradise Park. Pick up your quiz booklet, navigate the map as you explore the Park, then claim your exclusive ‘Wildlife Hero’ badge. Great educational fun for all the family!

Amazing daily events enjoyed by all ages include the ‘Eagles of Paradise Display’ featuring birds of prey including Dakota the Bald Eagle. Get hands on at Lorikeet Feeding where you can buy nectar for close-up parrot fun. You can even go on stage and a cockatoo will fly to your hand to collect your £1 coin donation. And don’t miss the impressive Scarlet Macaw flying spectacle at the end of the 3pm show. 

The adorable otter family, including mum Pippin and dad Katarni and their teenage pups, will entertain you at feeding times. And knowledgeable Keepers share insights about the characters in the penguin colony at their twice daily feeds.

Plus fabulous fun in the huge indoor JungleBarn play centre whatever the weather. Giant slides, challenging soft play and special toddlers’ zone with ball fountain.

Featuring low level displays, tanks and plenty of activities the National Lobster Hatchery and its £6 children’s annual pass is the kid friendly destination you didn’t know you needed.
