Fake News?, a new exhibition at PK Porthcurno, Museum of Global Communications, explores propaganda, disinformation and fake news from ancient times to the present day.
Discover how powerful narratives have been built and weaponised across the centuries, each using the information technology of its day. The exhibition then moves into the digital age, uncovering how algorithms work, the part influencers play, and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), which has taken misinformation to a whole new level.
Original historical material sits alongside current debate, playful interactives, and newly commissioned animation and illustrations by artist Syd Murphy.
Families can follow the S.N.I.F.F. Trail, where you’ll join trusty bloodhound Ernest Smellingway to sniff out fact from fiction. With a nose for the truth, Ernest leads the way across the whole museum, with plenty to spot and puzzle over for all ages. So how good is your nose for a fake?
