A super adventure is in store at Heligan this summer with a brand-new trail inspired by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s renowned picture book, Superworm. The trail is created in partnership with brand owners, Magic Light Pictures.
From 8 July to 10 September, our adventure trail will follow the wiggly, underground superhero’s journey through a section of Heligan’s 200-acre working estate, taking in extraordinary meadows and woodland walks to showcase the superpowers of soil, and the minibeasts and mega-beings who live in the soil.
Woodland play areas, iconic outdoor sculptures and views of wildflower meadows will all be part of the adventure with exciting activities and incredible facts to learn along the way. Fans of the ‘long, strong worm with amazing skills’ can have a go at the Superworm lasso, take on the Superworm skipping challenge and enter the Super-Tent to dig for treasure, get up close to a wormery and join knot-tying workshops. Plus, every week on Super-Skills Thursdays, there’s the chance to learn how to juggle, unicycle and even walk a tightrope with professional acrobats.
Our Superworm trail is included in the cost of garden entry and is free for Local Pass and Membership holders. Well-behaved dogs welcome.
