Special families enjoy Charlestown’s magical Tunnel of Lights

Posted in News by Lauren Webb on 8th December 2022

Families receiving care and support from Children’s Hospice South West’s Little Harbour at St Austell enjoyed a visit to the new festive Tunnel of Lights attraction at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Charlestown.

The award-winning museum staged a special session providing complimentary access for families with a child with a life-limiting condition to have the opportunity to explore their newly opened Christmas wonderland. It was an opportunity for families to enjoy some quality, fun time together in between busy care routines, appointments and respite breaks provided at the hospice.

Lynné Raubenheimer, Visitor Experience Manager at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum said:

“This year’s Tunnel of Lights is a truly magical, Christmas experience where visitors journey through numerous festive settings in our winter wonderland, which includes the longest tunnel of dazzling lights in the UK. It is very special to be able to welcome local families facing hugely difficult times and provide them with the opportunity to make some wonderful memories at this special time of year.”

Sam Hurse, Head of Care at Little Harbour said:

“I want to thank the Tunnel of Lights team for offering this festive experience to our families. It is always such a pleasure to attend, and to see our families relaxing and enjoying themselves during such a hectic time of year.”
