May half-term at the Eden Project: Festival of Imagination

Posted in Events by cata on 8th May 2024

Don’t miss a mesmerising May half-term at the Eden Project and discover an abundance of creativity around each corner! Festival of Imagination looks to give children in the South West access to art and culture that can inspire, empower and provoke questions. From music and art, to literature and gaming, we’re celebrating the joy of exploring new ideas and experiences with fun for the whole family.

What’s planned:

Blockbuster Factory (film making)

Blockbuster Factory is an ACE funded award winning audience participation show like no other. Step into Martin Bielspurg’s film venture, where you’re not just an audience but the beating heart of the movie! Join in with one of the diverse range of roles – be it camera whiz, makeup artist, or daring stunt double, Your involvement sways the tale – it’s not just a show, but your chance to shape a film’s destiny.

Daily percussion and puppetry

Don’t miss Anansi and the Lost Sun: A 30-minute puppet show which will take place twice a day with drop-in puppetry crafts run in between by the puppeteer.

Enjoy live African drumming, dancing and acrobat performances and drumming workshops with One Drum.

Looking for the Cloud (creative computing)

Delve into the fascinating world of technology and join Bath Spa University Creative Computing researchers to build and experiment with networks investigating how they work and how they use energy. Discover the underlying technologies and geographies powering the Internet through hands-on interactive activities.

Game Lounge

Whether you’re a future game designer, or simply want to explore the magic behind your favorite games, this is the perfect opportunity to bring your ideas to life. Dive into the world of game design and explore character creation by either drawing a 2D character on a sheet of paper to be scanned, or digitally colour in a pre-made character – and then play as the character you designed!

Book nook and lunch time literature

Looking for a quieter spot? Escape into a world of imagination with our cosy book nook – complete with blankets, pillows and cushions. Create at your own pace and enjoy a range of children’s books and colouring in sheets.

Enjoy daily storytelling from 1.30pm by visiting authors, Rebecca Cobb, Craig Barr Green, Suzanna Hubbard and Emma Yarlett.
