About Newquay Zoo

Meet over 1,000 of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals at Newquay Zoo. This education and conservation charity, owned by Wild Planet Trust, gives you the chance to get up close to many animals, from sloths and penguins to zebras and meerkats.

Just a short walk from the centre of Newquay, and set in grounds over thirteen acres, a visit to the zoo is a great way to teach children about conservation. Discover their breeding programmes and see if any new babies have arrived this year!

Home to many endangered wildlife species – including pied tamarins, ring-tailed lemurs, Visayan warty pigs and radiated tortoise,  to name a few. The zoo also has a Village Farm with some more familiar faces.

Children can run wild in two outdoor play areas, before all enjoying a bite to eat from the café at the zoo.

Opening Dates & Times

Off Peak Open November–March daily from 10:00am - 4:30pm (apart from Christmas Day)
Peak Season April–October Open daily from 10:00am - 5:00pm

What Visitors Say

"Enjoyed visiting them all and exploring. Bought a couple of Cornish pasties from an outlet for a mid-morning snack which were very nice. We were lucky enough to see the Lions playing either a football and being really energetic which was a treat! All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful."
"We really enjoyed our visit to Newquay zoo. It’s a small zoo but the park is lovely and so well set out. All the animal looks well looked after and happy. Probably the nicest zoo I’ve ever visited."
"Lovely place, chilled out atmosphere. Friendly staff, lovely girl giving talks at some of the animal enclosures, we saw her at Lions, and Otters. She was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Plenty places to sit and eat toured own food, there was also a cafe if you didn't bring any. There is a park to amuse the children."
