Lappa Valley, near St Newlyn East is set to host a Teddy Bear Fun Day, an event designed to promote the work of Penhaligon’s Friends and raise funds for the charity, which has been named Lappa Valley’s Charity of the Year.
On Sunday 22nd September, the park will be open for visitors, featuring a variety of traditional village fete-style games and engaging activities suitable for all ages. This year, the event will include special activities for teddy bears, inviting families to bring their furry friends along for a day of fun.
Throughout the day, attendees can look forward to regular appearances by the giant Penhaligon’s Friends Bear Mascot, adding a touch of excitement and charm to the event.
Penhaligon’s Friends, a charity based in Cornwall, provides vital support to bereaved children, young people, and their families. A portion of the day’s admission fees will be donated directly to Penhaligon’s Friends, aiding them in their essential work. Additionally, there will be collection points on-site for those who wish to make further contributions.
Julie Parker, CEO of the charity said: “The team at Penhaligon’s Friends are really looking forward to Lappa Valley’s Teddy Bear Fun Day, we have lots of fun activities to bring on the day including our teddy tombola – and look out for Fudge, our mascot bear too!
“We are so grateful for the support, and any funds raised on the day will help us to buy more story books and resources that we send out to families. These resources really help to open conversations with children about their loss and begin to start the process of grieving. Huge thanks to the team at Lappa for helping us to make a difference.”
Ben Harding, Operations Director at Lappa Valley said: “We’ve very proud to support Penhaligon’s Friends as our charity of the year, and looking forward to hosting the special day and helping to support the important work they do.”
This Teddy Bear Fun Day at Lappa Valley offers a unique opportunity for families to enjoy a memorable day out while supporting a worthy cause.
