Otter Spotter Special at Paradise Park, Hayle

Posted in Events by Lauren Webb on 12th May 2023

Treat your family to a wonderful wildlife day out this Half Term, 27 May to 4 June 2023.

See the wonderful new otters, ‘Pippin’ the little female and ‘Katarni’ the male, this Half Term, plus seek out the special otter info and spot the answers to the Otter Spotter Special quiz and claim your exclusive badge plus a chocolate fish!

Paradise Park celebrates its 50th year in 2023. This family run award-winning sanctuary is set in exotic gardens and there are over 1,200 stunning birds to meet – spectacular parrots, penguins, Cornish choughs, golden and bald eagles, toucans plus rare red pandas, red squirrels, and cute harvest mice. Meet mini donkeys, pygmy goats, sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs in the Fun Farm – all adorable family favourites.

The huge indoor ‘JungleBarn’ play centre is fabulous fun whatever the weather. With giant slides, challenging soft play and toddlers’ zone it’s great fun for all the family. Please book the ‘Park & JungleBarn Play’ tickets to include this in your visit.

Help feed the cute Pygmy goats and Ouessant sheep down on the Fun Farm. Each day there are 150 little bags of ‘Goat and Sheep Food’ which are 50p and available on entry.

The colony of penguins will be fed twice a day and include a Keeper talk. 11am and 2:30pm.

12 noon is the ‘Eagles of Paradise’ display. You may see Tangee the Palm-nut Vulture, Dakota the Bald Eagle, Angelo the Bateleur Eagle or Bong the Kookaburra.

Feed the little Lorikeet parrots at 1:30pm. A fantastic experience! Buy a small pot of nectar and help feed these wonderful little parrots in their walk-through aviary in the walled garden.

The popular ‘Free Flying Bird Show’ at 3pm features macaws, Amazon parrots, choughs and other birds flying free. On the stage and across the picnic lawn. A great opportunity to learn about natural bird behaviours in a wonderfully entertaining way.

On good weather days the Jungle Express Train, with Zebedee its loco, will be out for a spin! Board the train near the picnic lawn and set off through the gardens of Glanmor House on two circuits around the grounds of the house (not the whole Park). Includes the top section of Parrot Jungle, a trip through a tunnel with Twinkly Lights leading to behind the scenes at the back of the house. For train times please check when you arrive. There is a small extra charge.

Treat yourself to a light lunch or cream tea, with Kids’ Lunchboxes and ice creams available, at the Paradise Café with plenty of picnic tables and benches throughout the Park, plus snack bar inside the JungleBarn.

A leader in conservation and home to Operation Chough and the World Parrot Trust. A wonderful and worthwhile day out.

If one day is not enough, then take advantage of great value Return Tickets. Visit once at standard entry prices (perhaps using a discount code), and you can then buy a Return Ticket before you leave for your next visit in the season. And you can then keep buying Return Tickets every time you visit until 22nd March 2024.
