Tate St Ives Winter Festival 2023

Enjoy £1 entry to Tate St Ives and celebrate the festive season with a weekend of special activities…

Saturday 25 November 10.00–17.20
Sunday 26 November 10.00–17.20

Winter Festival 2023 celebrates community, inspired by the themes of artistic solidarity and creating collectively from the exhibition The Casablanca Art School. Enjoy performances, talks, workshops and more.

Casablanca Art School tutor Mohammed Chabâa said ‘the poster is a painting that is accessible to all’. Contribute to poster designs with festival artists in residence Redruth Press who use and share accessible and engaging print processes to generate striking posters that record, publicise, and provoke discussion. For the festival they invite everyone to come ‘together for change’ – what message do you want to share?

Experience a new performance work by inclusive dance collective Shallal, with music by composer Matthew Thomason, inspired by the work of Barbara Hepworth and her interest in music and performance. Shallal believes that everyone in society should have access to creativity, an equal voice, and the opportunity to discover their potential. This work takes inspiration from Hepworth’s Single Form (1961-64), sited at the United Nations Plaza in New York.

As always, at the heart of the festival local choirs will be singing in the galleries and pop up talks will be taking place around the galleries.

This festival is for all ages, including creative activities for families and young people, with discounted entry of £1 at Tate St Ives.
