Across the weekend, enjoy an array of experiences—from nostalgic journeys in a beautifully restored Victorian saloon carriage once used by the royals, to hands-on fun with ‘Camel’ the pump trolley. Hop aboard a historic selection of steam trains and enjoy a brake van ride too! Get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the workshop, and on Saturday, children can help with shunting, talking and directing the drivers!
See re-enactments of scenes from yesteryear showcasing the importance of the railway in Cornwall’s community and China Clay industry – all part of the Railway200 commemorations—marking the 200th anniversary of the first passenger train.
For the first time in seven years, see the classic trio of the Pannier, Prairie, and Auto-tank types working together – a truly iconic line-up of Great Western Railway (GWR) branch line locomotives!
