24th May – 1st June
Experiment and play with shapes, colours, and textures at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery this May half term with Quirky Collage, a holiday activity for children of all ages to get stuck into and families to enjoy together.
Inspired by the colourful and offbeat work of outsider artist Terry Shaul, visitors are invited to build their own multi-layered masterpieces to take home. Channel your inner Picasso, Matisse, Hoch or Hockney, and use collage to reinvent the world!
A collaborative collage based on Shaul’s 1979 painting, Truro Cathedral, will also be created over the course of the week, resulting in a new artwork for Cornwall inspired by an artist with a whimsical sense of humour and a unique way of seeing.
Cornwall College’s Art Department are also ‘popping up’ in the Heart of Cornwall Gallery during half term, with free creative activities on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10am – 12pm. No booking required.
Plus for tiny ones, a special half term Toddler Time will be held in the Nature Gallery. Join us at 10am for stories, games and exploration. Once again these sessions are free but we do request that you book in advance.
